Some old Pictures... and a new kit

OK - Mom's still here visiting, and I'm just now getting to scanning in some of the old pictures that she brought with her. Some of these I hadn't seen in years, and some I don't remember at all.....but I'm gonna scan them.. and scrap them so at least on the older ones we (family) will always remember who they were.

Aunt Marg.... these first couple are for you!!

And yes... if anyone wonders... I'm the little blonde kid that she's holding :)
And too... Mom thanks you for the pic of her and the Wazzan troupe... that's one picture she didn't have, or had seen for awhile... and wonders if you don't by chance have the old pictures that were in the cedar chest...she wished you did if you don't.

OK, now on to the Tag Kit freebie.

I didn't plan on making any kind of kit tonight, I was working on buddy tags, and then ended up with not feeling like searching for scraps to use with it, so I ended up making my own... lol. I always seem to do things the hard way.

Anyway, this is at 72 DPI for taggers... and a smaller kit. I couldn't believe I fit everything into just one preview! Wow.. that was a shocker, but then it only has 4 papers, and 14 elements, and a couple extras. All files are either jpg, png or psd, so most everyone should be able to use them with no problems.

Sizzling Summer

OK, so I know it's just about the end of May, but really, it seems like we skipped over spring and went right from winter into summer. It's almost 80 degrees here today. Not that I'm complaining.. not at all! I love summer, it's just that a bit more of spring-time would have been nice.

School's out here too. My son's last day was this past Thursday. I think this is the first year he's been upset that it was over. We got home thursday and he was all teary-eyed. Now I always expected that from my daughter.. but not from him. He was normally just thrilled when it was over. I think it's because he made a few more friends.. and also is more interested in girls.. lol Next year he'll be going to high school (9th grade) so maybe that had a bearing.. leaving the school and all. I did offer him summer school... HA!! Didn't think he'd go for that one!

Last few weeks I've been pretty busy, but the last couple days I have found time to play a bit in PSP.. and finally have something finished that I like. It's a bit bright, so you may need your sunglasses.... but I hope that you like it too.

It's another scrapper-sized kit... low resolution and smaller files. I honestly have tried the bigger scrap kits, and just can't seem to grasp that size, so I'll leave that to the pros, and just play around with the smaller stuffs :)

Mini Rant.... Scrap Stores

OK... So I do realize that this past Saturday was NSD (National Scrapbook Day) so I was attempting to stay away from all the stores and their sales..

Well I caved... ROFL

And I'm happy to report that most of the experience went well, downloads included. Now I did expect a bit of slowness thinking there would be a lot of traffic, using bandwidth, etc... but I really have to say.. when 4-shared is 100 times quicker for downloads on their slow day than this particular store... something is really wrong.

I'm not gonna name the store, although I'd love to. But I'll just say that they've lost any future purchases from me. I don't care what designers they have, or what awesome kits... I won't buy there because this is rediculous. I've been trying since last night to download the few kits I got..even left some downloading overnight. And then today I have to RE-DOWNLOAD again, as the files didn't finish or were corrupt.

Now, any store that has an average download speed of 11KB/sec...yes KB/sec and the zip files are over 70MB... this poses a problem. I have cable internet so I know it's not on my end. (that and other downloads have went perfectly.)

This store has crashed my PC.... aborted downloads in the middle... reset downloads.. you name it, it's happened. If I wanted slower-than-dialup speed... I'd have dial-up. I can only feel sorry for those that DO have dialup if they're trying to d/l these kits. So all I can say now is if you have a sweet tooth for scraps...find someplace with less sugar!

So that I end on a good note... I did find an awesome new scrap store, and their prices are very reasonable with really cute kits!

Dandelion Dreams

Well.. technically they're nightmares around here.. LOL

But as spring is here.. they are a-plenty in the yards. Although my roses are blooming this week, and I have a couple pics of them, just haven't gotten them out of the camera yet and done anything with them.

It's been so nice, warm and sunny.. well with a few days of a bit of rain, but tonight it's supposed to get down in the lower 30's. Sure wish the weather would make up it's mind... I'm ready for it to be warm all the time. But I guess if nothing else, it's saving on the heating/cooling bills. We haven't run the heat in the past 3 weeks, and only the air a couple times for just a short while.

It was funny this morning. My son, who's 13.. stayed up really late last night, since they had an in-service day for school. Not sure why, just knew there was no school. Well I'm guessing he stayed up til early morning, and he was still snoozing away after 11 AM. Well these couple of girls had been by, this was the second time, so I told them I would wake him up.. Man, you never saw a kid jump out of bed so quick! LMAO AND.... he put on cologne... LOL

So at least now I know how to get him up outta bed quick... ROFL.

Anyway, been working on this kit the past week, not sure if I really like it or not. Didn't use any commercial items this time, so it's all just kinda there. My bows are still pretty sucky...You're more than welcome to download and use if you'd like.. and if not.. well that's ok too.

OK...so I'm not good with updates

Actually I'm a pretty bad blogger... lol

I really stink at keeping things updated.
But I'm working on it :)

Today our weather was pretty nice, I think it got up in the 70's. But of course I missed it, slept through the whole day since I was up all night working. Hope the rest of the week is just as warm so I can at least enjoy a day or so of it.

I think I screwed up my template last time. I was thinking 4 by 6 - and ended up making the file only 400 x 600... thinking pixels instead of inches. So for any of you who downloaded and were expecting a larger file, I do apologize.

Next one I'll definitely make sure it's the right size.

My latest creation is a tagger sized scrapkit. It's at 72 ppi instead of the normal 200-300 which makes for a quicker download, but not good if you were wanting to print a LO. But it works just great for online things!

I'm still not too thrilled with my bow, but instead of just redoing it over and over, I decided to just work more on my next one.

Please don't re-upload my kit to sharing sites, but instead just share my blog link so that people can come download for themselves.

Wow... Fresh and Clean!!

Well, I haven't figured out how to make my blog all pretty yet, but I do have a download for anyone who'd like it.

It's a freebie template for a brag book, size 6' x 4" and it is zipped and includes both psd and png formats. Let me know if you need it in another format, and I'll do my best to convert it for you. This is my first attempt at a template, so if it looks crappy, sorry!!

I'm still learning different scrapping techniques, but I hope to have more freebie stuff for you that you can use. It will be a combination of scrapbook and tagging formats, because I do both.
